Chattahoochee Forest National Fish Hatchery
Did you know that the U.S. Forest Service purchased land in the 4 north Georgia counties of Fannin, Lumpkin, Gilmer and Union for $7 per acre in 1911?
Did you know that the Chattahoochee National Forest has over 650 bears as residents?
Here is a link to the US-FS and the history of the CCC camps. Tim’s late father, Woody Smith, was a CCC-er. He’ll have to dig up some old family stories for us on that. But in the meantime, check this out….
