Debbie and I were treated to a very pleasant surprise yesterday. Our daughter- in- law called and said she would bring the baby to visit and spend the night since Brandon had to work.
We were overjoyed about the idea. When Sandy and Ava arrived it begin to snow. We had already called the other kids to meet us in town for dinner. As we left the house and had to go over Deep Gap, we found it was already snowed over and frozen.
I called the kids from the car and told them the bad news…. but, if you know Tara, you know they were not deterred by a couple inches of snow…… they were able to get behind a salt truck and follow it to our house. Debbie and I made the quickest pot of chili and pan of cornbread ever. Tara, Tiffany, and Jamie were not able to stay long after dinner. Their house is on the other side of the county, way, way back in the sticks.
It has been fun having Ava here. She is such a happy baby. We don’t get to see her often but when we do it is great. For some reason, she starts to cry when I hold her.. go figure with my good looks and all. But last night she let me feed her and she went to sleep in my arms. And, yes, Debbie does spoil her………. but not me.
